To Many people Dubai sounds like a luxorious lavish lifestyle destined for only the minority in society. However let me tell you Dubai is avaiable to everyone not just the millionaires of the world. In this day and age it works out the same price to go to Dubai rather than going to Spain.
Ill write from the perspective of a teenager and the do's and dont's to do there.
Starting with the arduous 7 hour plane from the Uk make sure you download films on your devices as the inflight entertianment might not cater towards what you want. Furthermore, make sure you have turned off your data roaming as you dont want to be hit with Dubais price of 5 pound per Mb.
Dubai is the safest city in the world. Literally. When arriving in Dubai make sure you have your prebooked taxi or transfer ready and straight to the hotel.
Check with your hotels rules of what time you can check in from as you dont want to have completed such a long flight to then sit round for 6 hours waiting for your room. So make sure you bring a pillow or ask and pay for an earlier check in. And defo have a portable charger.
When we stayed in Dubai we stayed in the hampton by hilton marjan island. However i would not recommend this hotel to any visitor. There is nothing to do for kids around the pool and the pool area is mostly shaded so have to go down to the beach for the sun. And the biggest problem was the wifi haha. The wifi did not stretch the full way to the beach meaning you couldnt snapchat, instagram and take them lavish photos and post them. We see the area it situated be in RAK. this is a 45 minute taxi journey from Dubai centre. When getting taxis into the centre of Dubai use Careem or Uber for the best prices. ON average from RAK you woud be wanting to pay £45.
Getting onto the food, the food was average with not much choice and not much around the hotel to go and get food. With the area being made on a manmade island there not being much around it. For people wanting to experience Dubai at night and having lots of stuff around your hotel i would express that you bite the bullet and pay that little bit extra to be next to Dubai.
In Dubai there is a range of things to do. Sometimes too many things to do so let me telll you what to not to...
In my opinion i would not go up the Burj Khalifa because the queues are so so so long and WILL lead to boredom and stress. The whole point of the holiday is to experience Dubai and your waiting in a queue with another 2000 people. Yeah no thanks. Also the whole spectacle of Dubai is to see the Burj in all its glory so why go up it as you then cant see it?
Also be careful when booking taxis with Careem as even thought you possbily think you can pay by card you may not and will have to use the cash you brought with you.Furthermore, getting money out in Dubai can be a problem if u dont have your passport on you as same cards wont be accpeted by machines and it can eat your card.
Now onto the things that are a must.
For the small price of only around 12 pound each you can do a trip on a small boat around the water fountains overlooking the Burj. When i tell you this was the highlight of the holiday.
Other things i would say to do would be the top golf for an amazing experience and brilliant for kids.
Another thing which if your bringing kids to Dubai and dont do this you are cruel. The atlantis waterpark which is the biggest in the world is a must for all ages. Make sure you use sun tan lotion that is really good in water!.
Another trip for those wanting to have an amazing Instagrsm portfolio is the Burj Al Arab tours. For this yu could just as easily pay nothing and go to the beach next to it or you could pay ti go inside in or even pay for a priavte boat that goes to many places including the Burj Al Arab
Dubai is full of incredible spectacles and for another amazing one i would say is its origin. The deserts can be a truely unwavering experience allowing you to experience cultures and see Dubai. For these desert tours the best place for them is to do it RAK as the deserts havent been tampered with and are most unique. In these tours, it will include picture spots, wreckless driving on the dunes which is the fun part and a camel ride with a traditional show on the nightime with food and some drink included.
